Because The First Week Matters

Your Private Maternity Nurse

A maternity nurse is a newborn care specialist who typically joins a family right after birth, and sometimes even in the final days of pregnancy to help prepare for breastfeeding.

As both a midwife and an International BoardCertified Lactation Consultant, I bring the expertise to support your birth story as well as your feeding journey. Teaching the gentle art of mother-crafting is my passion, helping new  mothers gain confidence, establish effective feeding, and enjoy more rest in those precious early days.

Everyone’s family requirements are unique, so the duties of the maternity nurse will differ, if you are interested in my bespoke maternity nurse package, you can book a free 15 min zoom consultation to see if we are the right fit.

While maternity nurses are well-established in many countries, this concept is still new inAustralia. I am here to bridge that gap with a bespoke package that takes the stress out of breastfeeding, ensuring you feel supported, your baby feeds effectively, and your first weeks flow more smoothly.

Prices range between $500.00 – $1000.00 per day depending on hours required and your location

Download my video on the importance of colostrum in the first few days of your newborn’s life.

Colostrum is a Protective Force for your baby, creating a boost to their physiological performance, growth and development.  Its biological function is to build your baby’s immune system with antibodies that help protect them from germs and harmful microorganisms.

ABOUT AMY’S BACKGROUND

Amy supports first time mums through to experienced mothers and families with Pregnancy, Birth and Breastfeeding.

Her approach to education is from a mindfulness perspective, supporting women to transform their experience from fear based and stressed… To calm, confident and rewarding!

Amy added her new business Just For Lactation to The Mindful Mama Co. in order to bring more specialised support, advice and acceptance in a world quick to judge how women “do breastfeeding”.

Amy has breastfeeding equipment available on hand and on this website.

Sizes and shapes of nipple shields, flanges, and bottle teats can make or break your experience, and will affect the amount of wind produced by your baby during a feed. Therefore, purchasing equipment from a qualified lactation consultant is important and not only will it save you money, but it will also improve your feeding outcomes.

As much as we love to prepare everything prior to the birth, don’t waste your money getting too organised!

ABOUT AMY

She started her career as a registered nurse, and then expanded into midwifery and lactation for the sole purpose of helping families in those first stages of life, giving support and guidance to parents so that they could walk out of hospital with the confidence to cope and enjoy the first stages of parenthood.
